New Free Motion Embroidery Classes in Singapore

My participants had so much fun the last time around that I have decided to have a second round of free motion embroidery (aka machine embroidery) workshops in the second half of 2025. If you’re in Singapore and you’re keen to pick up this skill, do join me. The classes are cosy (maximum of 6 participants so each of you will get undivided attention!), and all you need to bring to the class is:

1. a basic skill in using the sewing machine - this means you already know how to thread a basic sewing machine and be able to sew a straight line; and

2. an open mind - when it comes to free motion embroidery, it is all about breaking the rules of what you have learned in a basic sewing class!

The Feb 2025 basic free motion embroidery workshop at Fashion Makerspace

Basic Free Motion Embroidery ($98)

Join me on 11 July, Friday, 7-9:30pm. At the end of the basic session, everyone gets to take home their own free motion embroidered tea towel!

Learn how to:

1. Set up the sewing machine for free motion embroidery

2. Draw and write with the sewing machine

3. Combine applique with free motion embroidery!

4. Troubleshoot when you encounter hiccups along the way

Intermediate Free Motion Embroidery ($120)

Join me on 18 July, Friday, 7-9:30pm. This workshop expands your free motion embroidery skills with the use of dissolvable fabric! Participants must have basic skills in free motion embroidery. Venue & Sign up at FMS (Clarke Quay)

Learn how to:

1. Select the right dissolvable fabric for your project.

2. Create textures and lace-like fabric with dissolvable fabric to create embellishments.

3. Apply dissolvable fabric in your daily sewing.
