Finding Your Inner Tortoise

Part of Agy’s work involves slowing down and reconnecting with oneself through stitch meditation. There are no rules with this technique, only that you set aside some time each day and bring the needle and thread through the fabric in a repetitive motion. The focus is instead on the process, and not the product. In doing so, the artist enters flow, the period when you are in the zone, time slows down and your mind becomes fully absorbed in the activity, aka ‘being in the zone’

“The best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times… The best moments usually occur if a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile.” ~ Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
