We are nearing the end of 2025, and I’m excited to share a series of Free Motion Embroidery workshops taking place from December 2025 into January 2026.
I will be hosting in-depth 4-hour sessions in December, and 2.5-hour workshops (basic and intermediate) in January.
Whether you’re a beginner ready to explore stitching beyond straight lines or someone looking to deepen your practice, these workshops will guide you in transforming thread into texture, line, and flow.
Please note:
you must know how to operate a sewing machine to attend these classes. You will have a difficult time catching up if you do not know how to work a sewing machine.
the classes focus on building basic control and confidence, not on complex compositions.
this does not focus on Peranakan embroidery, only on using the sewing machine to draw and paint.
If you already comfortably do free motion quilting, this workshop will likely be too basic for you.

Free motion embroidery workshops at Fashion Makerspace, Singapore
Basic Free Motion Embroidery
Date: 18 January 2026, 10:30 AM – 1 PM
Location: Fashion Makerspace, Clarke Quay

In this 2.5hour class, I will go over the basics of setting up and drawing with a sewing machine. At the end of the session, you will get to take home your own free motion embroidered and appliqued tea towel. Link below takes you to Fashion Makerspace.
Intermediate Free Motion Embroidery - Let’s Paint with Dissolvable Fabric!
Date: 18 January 2026, 2 – 5 PM
Location: Fashion Makerspace, Clarke Quay
Price: $130 per participant
Take your skills up a notch with dissolvable fabric, an exciting technique that lets you “paint” without a base fabric. Create your own lace-like embellishments to adorn your sewing creations, and even postcards! Link below takes you to Fashion Makerspace.

Free Motion Embroidery: Paint & Draw with Thread (4-hour in-depth session)
