Fragile Beauty

What is left of the world’s coral reefs?

Dive into the world of Fragile Beauty, a series that showcases the constrained and vulnerable environment that coral reefs inhabit today. The pieces portray the harsh reality of the numerous anthropogenic pressures that threaten their growth and survival. Each delicate coral cluster has been meticulously crafted by hand and with the sewing machine, utilizing the traditional technique of Broderie Anglaise. The artist intentionally chose to create this series on a smaller scale to underscore the significant decline of coral reefs, emphasizing the fragility and importance of these precious ecosystems.

Fragile Beauty is a series of 5 textile artworks exhibited at my first solo, Hues of Loss.
