Made in SG II Exhibition
I am very excited to have been selected for the annual exhibition of the Sculpture Society Singapore (SSS). The theme for the show is Made in SG and it coincides with the 60th birthday of our nation! For this show, I will be showcasing my textile art moss artwork.
My sculpture is a large pebble, and is a continuation of the Renewal’s Path series. It merges the rugged nature of cast concrete with the delicate touch of hand embroidery. Its weathered surface feels like a vessel of memory, rooted deeply in a sense of place. Within its cracks, embroidered moss and weeds subtly emerge, symbolizing the quiet persistence of life in overlooked corners. This contrast between the rugged concrete and the softness of textile mirrors Singapore’s unique spirit—vibrant and modern, yet richly layered with cultural history.
Through this piece, I invite viewers to pause and reflect on how, even as we experience rapid change and progress, small symbols of belonging—like pebbles, winding paths, and organic growth—steadily anchor us to our past, our identity, and the places we call home.
