January Textile Experiments

Concrete casting

Since experimenting with concrete and embroidery, and creating the coral fossils, I’ve decided to go a step further and explore more sculptural techniques with the 2 media. It’s been very slow mainly because the weather in Singapore was awful - we had a couple of weeks where it was raining non-stop. This means the concrete couldn’t set quickly. As you can see, it is a super messy process. I keep this part of my art in the balcony area of my kitchen - well ventilated, away from food and my textiles!
