New Textile Art Workshops in Singapore

These are the last in person textile art workshops for 2023 happening in Singapore for me!

Take a look!

Broderie Anglaise Masterclass

This 2.5 hour masterclass will introduce you to the foundations of Broderie Anglaise. I will be sharing the basics of stems and eyelets, the building blocks of this traditional hand stitch technique - this delicate embroidery design can be found in summer dresses and tops, as well as on home textiles. They are also a good way of beautifying any holes or unsightly areas in your garments too! You may recall that I have used this skill in making my delicate corals for my solo exhibition, so I will be sharing all my tips and tricks with you so that you won’t get into a tangle when you start! This session will include a DIY kit for you to take home so that you can continue practicing Broderie Anglaise at home.

4 November, 2pm at Craft Atelier (58 Joo Chiat Place)

$120 per person inclusive of kit

Basic Free Motion Embroidery

This is my go to technique when I create my artworks. I love how I can draw with the sewing machine, and break the rules of traditional sewing at the same time. I will share how to set up the sewing machine, the tips and tricks for free motion embroidery, and how to create a simple sketch on a tea towel. At the end of the session, you’ll take home your own tea towel with a free motion embroidery design! It’s super fun, and can get very addictive!

10 Dec, 1030am at Fashionmakerspace (42 North Canal Road)

$98 per person

Foil Stamping

Foil stamping has been around for years, but it has only been used on textiles and made popular from the 80s. In this workshop, I’ll be sharing the technique of foil stamping on fabric, how it can be used to update your clothing, and what the tips for getting the perfect stamp! The session is 2 hours and the end product is a brooch. This workshop is in collaboration with SG Eco Art Festival.

26 Nov, 11am - 1pm at Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre

$49 per person (early bird)

Hope to see you at my workshops!
